The founders of the Galeria de arte San Luis are contemporary artists who have decided to support Czech art not only in the Czech Republic but also in Europe. Estepona is interesting for its beautiful historic center, located around Plaza Las Flores. Among the most important monuments of the city are the ruins of the Castle of St. Louis, which was built in the 16th century at the behest of Catholic kings. Also interesting is the originally Arab Clock Tower Torre del Reloj, which in the past served as a minaret. After 1456, when the Christians won, it was rebuilt into a church and served as a belfry. During the reconstruction in the 18th century it was completed with one more dome in the neoclassical style. History lovers should not miss a visit to the local archaeological museum, where products from the Paleolithic period are hidden.
The city is also known as the venue for various celebrations and fiestas, most of which take place in February during the carnival parades. On May 7, a pilgrimage takes place in the local park of Los Pedregales in honor of Saint Isidor Labrador, the patron saint of Estepona.
